Mark McAskillJewellery, a renowned Australian Jewelry supplier, is celebrating its 25th year of existence this year. The managing director of the company Mark McAskill stated that the company would be celebrating its success in the forthcoming International Jewellery Fair by launching a couple of new product ranges.
Since its establishment in 1990, the Adelaide-based jewelry manufacturing business evolved in leaps and bounds. The company which started with just one apprentice today has a qualified workforce exceeding above 40 industry professionals.
Wholesale manufacturers in Australia were facing numerous challenges, especially considering that it’s a well-known fact that wholesale jewelry manufacturing is a dying breed, McAskill said. The managing director said that competing with affordable products coming from abroad is the biggest challenge for the company.
McAskill identified some of the major achievements in the last 25 years and said that introducing the supplier’s own casting facilities in the late 1990s, expanding business in New Zealand and developing “stone-in-place” casting technique contributed to the success of the company.
Looking forward McAskill stated that they will play in continuing what they do best that is a design and create quality fine jewelry.
The IJF is scheduled to be held at Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island from 29th-31st August 2015.
