Messika Diamonds, a Paris based jewelry company was recently awarded with an authentication certification by the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), an independent, not-for-profit, standards setting and certification organization. Along with Messika Diamonds, RJC has also announced certifications of four more companies – Christian Dior Couture, the Gem Certification & Assurance Lab, Ashwin Diamonds and Cookson Metaux Precieux.
Currently RJC has 670 members from the jewelry making and mining sector, of which 422 are certified. The organization has 33 code of conduct certified members as well.
RJC’s executive director, Andrew Bone made the announcement recently and said that Messika Diamonds SAS has been awarded the certification against the 2013 COP. He also mentioned that the 2013 COP addresses important issues for RJC members and he was impressed how members were achieving certification against the stringent standards sets.
SGC United Kingdom Limited, an independent third-party auditing firm led the verification assessment. Anne-Lise Legrand was the assessor for SGC United Kingdom Limited.
Messika Diamonds are visibly pleased with the announcement and this was articulated by the company president Albert Safrana who said that the RJC certification recognized the integrity of the company. The ethical standards practiced by Messika Diamonds are responsible for this certification, added Safrana.
