After years of speculation, luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co has finally decided to open a shop in New Zealand. The company’s Australian subsidiary will be setting up the new store in a luxury shopping district in Auckland. However, Tiffany &Co’s first company-operated store in New Zealand is expected to open only by late 2016.
The company has already booked a 430 square meter ground floor space at Australis House in Auckland. Till now New Zealand’s customers have only had access to a duty-free store run by DFS T Galleria in Auckland. Since the company’s online store doesn’t ship directly across the Tasman, New Zealanders have been bereft of enjoying the luxury brand for so long.
Tiffany’s managing director and vice president of the Oceania region, Glen Schlehuber said that the demand for an exclusive outlet for New Zealand has been there for a long time now. He also said that the company had been trying for a few years to start an outlet there.
New Zealanders will be able to shop for several exclusive Tiffany collections such as Tiffany T, Tiffany Atlas and diamond engagement rings. The shop will also stock fine jewelry, gold jewelry, and watches.
