Renowned Swiss watch manufacturer TAG Heuer is all ready to make their entry into the digital world with its smartwatch. This is seen as the company’s answer to the Apple Watch that was launched amidst a lot of fanfare earlier this year.
TAG Heuer will be launching the smartwatch called “Connected” on November 9. The Swiss manufacturer has partnered with Google and Intel – competitors of Apple Inc. to develop the smartwatch while the design will replicate one of the brand’s best-selling models – the black Carrera. It is reportedly being said that Connected will be initially sold at a retail price of $1400.
CEO of TAG Heuer, Jean-Claude Biver had stressed in March when the company had announced its plan to manufacture the smartwatch that Connected would be easily recognized as a TAG. He had then said that “Apple Watch looks like Apple, TAG Heuer’s will look like TAG Heuer. TAG Heuer will have the DNA of TAG Heuer.”
Right now, apart from the name and release date, the company hasn’t confirmed anything else about the smartwatch. There is however a countdown website for the smartwatch where a glimpse of Connected has been released.
