Lady Gaga is probably more known for her quirky fashion sense than the fabulous singer that she is. Her red carpet appearances are always out-of-the-box. She is one lady who doesn’t know the meaning of propriety! But all the looks are not always her creation. The man behind all of Lady Gaga’s look is Brandon Maxwell. He is the man behind Lady Gaga’sglittery gown in the 2015 Grammy Awards and also all her outfits for the Cheek to Cheek tour with Tony Bennett.
In the upcoming New York Fashion Week, which is to be held later this year in September, Maxwell will debut with his first-ever ready-to-wear collection. The stylist, who has already featured on The Hollywood Reporter's 25 Most Powerful Stylists list this year and has also found a mention on one of THR’sStylists Issue covers with Lady Gaga, is visibly very excited about the new opportunity.
“I’m so excited to be fulfilling a lifelong dream of design, making clothes inspired by all of the powerful women in my life — from the classic to the avant-garde,” Maxwell said in a statement.
Maxwell’s collection is expected to be geared towards evening wear with a lot of emphasis on lean black suiting and gowns. It is expected that all the designs presented by Maxwell will be different from what he has been designing for Lady Gaga all these years. “It’s important that it’s humble and taken seriously,” said Maxwell. “I want women to want to wear the clothes, and I want people to say it was well-made and well thought out,” he added.
Though the final details of when Maxwell will present his collection in the New York Fashion Week is yet to be announced, the excitement is visible. In fact, it won’t be surprising if Lady Gaga makes a front-row appearance during his show.
