Balmain Puts a Sisterly Act - Get Star Siblings to Shoot For Its New Campaign

We often say that everything fades in front of family love. Balmain, the haute couture fashion brand, recently shot a new campaign where they brought three pairs of celebrity sisters together. Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Joan Small did a photoshoot for Balmain’s new campaign for Fall 2015along with their sisters. While Kendall shared the space with her 17-year-old sister Kylie, Gigi did the same with her sister Bella, also 17. Meanwhile Joan Small shared the frame with her sister Erika.

The idea to bring siblings together was ace designer Olivier Rousteing's brainchild and it all came it his mind while working with Kendall and Kylie’s older sister Kim Kardashian and her husband Kayne West last year. “While I watched Mario Sorrenti capture a kiss last fall, I was struck by the love and the emotion that I was witnessing in front of me," he told a section of the media recently. “My team and I quickly concluded that a celebration of the unique and unconditional love of siblings is a natural progression of the spirit of last season.”

The campaign photographs were shot by the famous photographer Mario Sorrenti while the creative direction of the shoots was by Pascal Dangin. The three pairs of siblings wore dresses specially designed by Olivia's sequined collection. Mario wanted the siblings to fiercely show their bond and that’s why the photographs are not only looking glamorous but also scintillating.

A few images from the campaign were unveiled by Balmain on their official Instagram account. Keeping the theme of the shoot in mind, it isn’t surprising to see the Jenners and Smalls pose seriously. However, the Hadid sisters’ images show young Bella applying lipstick on her elder sister Gigi.

Olivier revealed that that seeing the siblings working together has once again ascertained his belief that showcasing sibling love this season was a good idea. “Watching them work together made it clear to me that the universal age-old truth,” the 29-year-old creative director said. “The truly powerful strength, support and love that family members provide for each other.”

For the menswear collection, Olivier brought together fashion model brothers Armando Cabral and Fernando Cabral.
