Maw-Sit-Sit got recognition in the year 1963 by the Swiss geologist late Dr. Edward Gubelin. It was named after the village of the North-west region of Burma, where this captivating gem nugget is found. Like its unique name, its chemical composition is too distinctive. In general, it is a green hued gem that also hold the veining of black to black-green color. Most of the gemstone contemplates to be a mineral composition but in case of Maw-sit-sit, it is speculated as a rock. The composition of this gem is formed of three different minerals in different quantities i.e. kosmochlor, Albite feldspar, and jadeite.
