Substantial quantities of Carnelian have been found in the oldest known deposits in Bengal, India. It is also mined in other countries, like Uruguay, Brazil, USA (mostly in Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina), Madagascar, Botswana, Peru, Iceland, and South Africa.
